Rustic Furniture Care

All our furniture is build to last many generations but all the wood surfaces must be treated with care in order for your investment to look great.

1-Solid wood expands and contracts with the humidity levels and extreme humidity changes (eg direct forced air vents directly under the table can cause wood to warp and crack so the use of the humidifier is recommended to maintain relative humidity between 30%-40%

2- Your furniture was finished with several coats of lacquer or polyurethane ,however, even the best finish is not scratch proof. We suggest to pass the objects by lifting rather than sliding in order to reduce the risk of surface scratches.

3-High temperature is another common cause of damage to table tops. A good test of temperature is if object is too hot for you hands ,then it's too hot for your table. Please use trivets and coasters to avoid damage.

4-Avoid using glass cleaners on wood as they contain ammonia and can damage the finish.

5- Use a damp cloth with a little bit of mild detergent, wipe in direction of the grain and follow up with scratch free cloth to remove excess moisture.

6- If possible try not to place furniture under direct light If this is not possible try to move accessories(eg flower vases) to different areas of the surfaces to allow for even penetration of light.
